San Grato Botanical Park - located on Arbostora hill above Lake Lugano, the flora of the park is exceptionally interesting with a variety of Camellias, Rhododendrons and Azaleas in ranbow colours. Flower Path starts at the summit of Monte San Salvatore, through the village of Carona and then into the gardens.
Swissminiature - showcasing Switzerland through miniature creations of famous landmarks, the park is situated on the shore of Lake Ceresio and has stunning mountain scenery and lush vegetation surrounding it.
City Centre - the historic city centre is a traffic free zone, helping it to retain its charm and character. View the magnificent Lombardic style buildings, museums and quaint little shops as well as beautiful old villas and religious buildings.
Museo delle Culture Extraeuropee - located on the footpath to Gandria in Villa Helenum, the museum is one of the most interesting in the area and features statues from Africa, Samoa and Papua New Guinea.
Cathedral San Lorenzo - one of the stunning cathedrals in Lugano, San Lorenzo was built in the 16th century and features gleaming, well preserved leafy frescoes. Basilica Sacro and Chinesa Santa Maria degli Angioli also feature striking frescoes. |
