Useful Tips |
| Parking - by Judith from UK |
| Parking here is a bit of a mission as there are usually not enough bays, here are some of the things you should look out for, the red parking zones must have a red parking disk and you can park in these for up too 15 hours, then there is the white zone here you can park for as long as you need and you do not need a permit. The blue zones need a permit, you can buy the disks from gas stations and police stations and motor clubs. |
| Scenic drives - by Pierre from Belgium |
| The Simplon Pass Road - Streches from Germany to Italy and is about 40 miles long. You'll enjoy the most scenic mountain views in Europe! The pass was ordered by Napoleon in 1805. |

| The roads are excellent, all gas stations take EC and Credit Cards, and the speed limit is 130 unless stated less, beware of undercover police and camera's! |

Switzerland Overview |
Famous for neutrality, chocolate and top quality time keeping devices, Switzerland is a beautiful and interesting country. Often maligned as boring and characterless, Switzerland is anything but, with its incredible landscapes and some of Europe's finest cities.
Switzerland has its major borders with France, Germany and Italy and it is somewhat of a blend of the three, with the result being a unique and unforgettable experience. With its fine culture and breathtaking countryside, Switzerland is a fantastic place to visit. |

Switzerland Essentials |
Zurich - Zurich's cleanliness, efficiency and compact layout is well known. An affluent city, Zurich has a wonderful setting by Lake Zurich with mountainous peaks in the distance. One of Zurich's most impressive features is its architecture, and the cobbled streets of the old part of town are a joy. Zurich is now a multi-ethnic city with interesting museums, slick cafes and an exhilarating nightlife.
Geneva- Geneva is situated in the far south west of Switzerland, bordering with France, and sits on the banks of Lake Geneva. Geneva is aesthetically pleasing and brimming with culture and must be one of the most enjoyable destinations in Europe. There are some fascinating sights here, and the restaurants and bars are exceptional
Lucerne - One of the most beautiful places in Switzerland, Lucerne is as close to the stereotypical Swiss setting as you will get. Set on the edge of Lake Lucerne, the city has the perfect setting and is also of interest thanks to its striking buildings and cultural attractions.
Jungfrau Region - This region of Switzerland offers awe inspiring landscapes and great possibilities for winter sports from skiing to mountaineering.
Zermatt - This Alpine skiing resort is one of the best in Europe. With breathtaking views and superb slopes, Zermatt is a real treat for winter sport enthusiasts. |

Switzerland Calendar - Pick of the Year's Events |
